Quinalt

For our second night on the peninsula, we stayed at the Quinalt Lodge. It was perfect for our crew -- lots of trails, lake access for Herbie's swims and throwing rocks, a grassy field to play, a resident cat, and the pool!

We stayed here, in the "boat house," just off the main lodge. After a failed attempt at dinner in the lodge's restaurant, we took our food (and Shawn's beer) to go and sat outside overlooking the lake to finish our food. To get the rest of Andy's energy out, I "bought" things from him at his gazebo store (like pretend apples, oranges, chocolates, and a small boat) and had him "deliver" these items to Shawn at the top of the hill, one by one. Lots of running back and forth did the trick!
The gazebo was Andy's "work," and no one was allowed in it but him, so it was pretty easy to get him to run back down the hill to start another delivery cycle -- I'd just tell him I was thinking of going inside his work and he'd yell "no mommy, that's my work!" and chase me back down the hill.
Here's the very patient cat.

Picking flowers for me on mothers' day!

Throwing flowers and moss off the bridge and watching them float down the river was one of Andy's most requested activities.
Swimming!
