A little construction

Andy had Evan from pre-school over for a play date. Fun with a jack hammer!

So .... sad? gross? take your pick!

I was in DC for four days, three nights. Apparently, that's enough time for Shawn to go through all of his socks and, in a moment of extreme desperation, pull on a knee-high nylon!! Think that's as funny as it gets? Consider: this photo was taken at the END of the day, long after he realized what he had on his foot... That's my honey!

Getting outside!

The kids love cuddling up on the front porch with Shawn.

Wild child!
Singing and dancing

SUN

Sun is so rare around here these days, Sylvia almost didn't know what it was. Shawn made sure she got her vitamin D!

Fishin'

Andy was so excited to go fishing with Shawn. He practiced in the yard. Not sure why the helmet? Fishing on Greenlake after work/school.

Getting there!

We're getting closer and closer to getting the house ready to go on the market (well, we need a good couple coats of paint first, but that's happening this week!). You may recall we used to have an odd (ugly) glass awning and full porch, now we have a cute little awning and a brand new smaller front porch. The side door also had the glass awning, now a cute little trellis.

Sunday Outing

The kids got spruced up for our day at the beach! That's an alligator hat...

The highest honors

Tonight Andy paid me a huge compliment, saying he loves me "more than all the superheroes," and indeed "more than hot wheels."

In other cuteness, during a dinner that I cooked but no one wanted to eat, I said it's enough to make a mommy not want to cook, and he said "But -- we do love you mommy."

He also wrote a poem with Karen today (he was home sick) that includes his favorite line of thanks, which I'm sure he learned from his dad: "I appreciate everything you do for our family." Try fitting that into a poem!

High praises indeed from my sweet son.

Snapshots of Sylvia

Sylvia's been enjoying the chairs on the front porch in our spring-ish weather. Go Spartans! Oh well.

Reunited ...

... and it feels so good! I left Elmo at the W's several weeks ago. Melissa was kind enough to deliver it back to my little girl. She loves that Elmo like nothing you've seen.

Easter cookies

The kids got to lick the frosting off of the beaters, something we always got to do as kids.
Getting ready to decorate! Unfortunately, my helper #1 was really only interested in decorating one cookie, his own. Then I was left to my own devices...
Sylvia pulled out the grown-up apron herself when she saw Andy wearing his. We managed to get it to fit!

Sunday evening

Post nap, Andy makes the case for bringing out the splash pool...

J-E-L-L-O!

Finally some SUN!

Spring has finally sprung! Shawn took the kids to Discovery as I made my way home from a girl's night at the Tulalip Casino...
Digging holes!
Sylvia's actually IN one of the holes here.
Shawn tells me the kids did this all afternoon (it's no wonder Sylvia took a 4 hour nap!).

Goofing around

Sylvia looks so much older in these photos that I had to post them. She was just goofing around with the blanket.

Worms!

Andy and Logan caught themselves some worms during their Friday play date. We put them in jars ... I know Logan's mom was thrilled with the new pets!

Night out

Mom and Tom took the kids last Saturday so we could go out with grown-up Sylvia and her husband Ian, who is considering a job here in Seattle. I rarely get little Sylvia dressed up, so I had to take a couple pictures... Sly and Sly
