I highly recommend the following blog post at Flotsam for a real world look at what our homes are really like, at least once babies enter our lives...

Sylvia ... and Sylvia!
Little Sylvia with grown-up Sylvia, the wonderful woman she's named after.
Grown-up Sylvia -- my good friend from law school oh so long ago -- was in town while her husband had meetings for a possible new job. She may be spending a lot more time in Seattle soon! Little Sylvia quickly warmed up to her namesake, rejecting my hand to hold her new friend's hand all through the SAM sculpture park.

For my Mom's birthday, we all went to the Children's Museum. I hadn't been there in a while - it's right up Sylvia's alley these days! Andy loved the construction area and the fire truck.

18 Machines
My brother Peter made this fantastic drawing book for Andy (it was his Christmas present, it's just taken me a while to get the photos loaded up!). Knowing that Andy loves drawing "designs" of all sorts of complicated machines, Peter created 18 pages with directions for different machines to draw. Each page is covered with plastic so that Andy can use dry erase pens and all sorts of tools that Peter sent for him. This book is so incredible I thought you'd all want to see the whole thing - all 20+ pages of it! Thanks Tito for giving Andy endless hours of design fun!(Copyright Peter Gaffney 2008).
