Our new house

I've been radio silence for the last two months as we (1) moved to Mom and Tom's downtown condo for five weeks (yes, all of us, including Herbie), (2) sold our house twice and, (3) between the two sales, signed a contract to buy a house, (4) then rescinded said offer when our first sale fell through, (5) moved back into our house, (6) had our post and pier foundation entirely replaced, and (7) sweated it out while our new buyers did their inspection and sewer scope so that we could (8) put a new offer back on the house we love. We worked so hard to get back in a position to make an offer on this house and to bump the contingent contract they had accepted while we were busy replacing our foundation. It was nerve racking until the end but we finally got notice yesterday that the contingent buyer rescinded because she couldn't waive her contingency by the deadline. All that is to say, we're buying this house! Thank you Melissa, the most patient, professional, hard working realtor EVER.

The house is in north Ballard, or perhaps it's considered North Beach, but in any case it's west, about half way between Golden Gardens and Carkeek and not far from Discovery, our favorite parks! It's at the end of a long dead end, on a very quiet cul-de-sac, and around the corner from a park and the junior high track and field. It has a great back yard for the kids to play, plus a rec room and a workshop in the basement for Shawn's work/music. Three bedrooms on the main floor, plus a fourth for visitors (you know who you are and we can't wait to have you stay)!

Our home sale and purchase both close on August 6, then we get the weekend to move because our buyers graciously gave us 3 days to vacate after closing. We hope it all goes smoothly here at the financing stage!
